A large number of people turned out today to watch the launching of Dura Vermeer’s floating and amphibian homes on the River Meuse near Ohé en Laak. The homes were launched by a “duo lift” consisting of two mobile cranes weighing 500 and 700 tons.
The fine weather helped ensure that the entire operation was a success and the Michielsens crane company was able to finish its work sooner than expected. After Maasbommel, Ohé en Laak is the second location in the Netherlands where Dura Vermeer has constructed floating homes. Limburg Provincial Executive Member Patrick van der Broeck and Alderman Ton Forschelen of the Municipality of Maasgouw had the honour of performing the opening ceremony.
These floating and amphibian homes were designed and constructed by Dura Vermeer Gebiedsontwikkeling Infra and Dura Vermeer Bouw Rosmalen in collaboration with Boiten Consulting Engineers and Factor Architects.
